These banister spindle rods measure 12cm (4.7 inches) in length, from the tip of the threaded bolt to the part that makes contact with your banister. Finding the right fit for your staircase can be difficult, so the extra long spindle rods give you the best chance to achieve a sturdy and reliable fit. The rubbery textured end helps grip the surface without causing damage, and the matching adjustment wheel allows for an adjustable length and tight, secure fit.

Designed as an adapter to help your gate fit banisters at the bottom of stairways, this 2 pack of pressure gate Y-spindle rods from Baby Gate Guru can be used against banisters, railings, balustrades, and other round supports. It can also be used on angled wall corners or other unorthodox places where a Y-shape spindle rod will fit.

Available in two standard sizes, the M8 fits gates with an 8-9mm diameter opening, while the M10 fits gates with a 10mm diameter opening. Check the compatibility information to ensure you get the right fit for your gate.

To install your gate at the bottom of your stairs, use 1-2 Baby Gate Guru Banister Y-Spindle Rods against your stair banisters, depending on the design of your staircase, and normal spindle rods for the remaining flat surface contact points. If you need replacement normal spindle rods or your existing spindle rods will not reach, use Baby Gate Guru Extra Long Spindle Rods (sold separately) to help extend the maximum width of your gate.

Each set of Banister Y-Spindle Rods comes with 2 rods. Depending on your staircase design, you may only need 1, but if your staircase has round banisters on both sides, or both the top and bottom of a single side, you will need both Y-spindles.

The extra length of these spindle rods gives you more play, making it possible to install your gate where you previously couldn't or, in any case, making for an easier, more secure installation. The rubbery padded end piece wraps all the way around the metal, an important factor designed to prevent damage to wooden banisters. The padded end pieces also have textured dots to help prevent slipping and create a secure grip against many types of surfaces.

The quality steel is welded together on smooth, non-threaded surfaces to create the strongest connection, and the injection molded adjustment wheels provide a strong, easy to grip surface for tightening your installation easily without additional tools.
